Children

What we believe in:
We want children to grow and develop healthily, and we believe that feet are the foundation of this development.

During the first seven years of life, a child's feet undergo enormous changes. During this most important period, their feet should not be restricted or constrained.

It is best for our children to let them crawl, walk, and run barefoot (of course, where possible, e.g., at home, on sand, or on safe grass) - this allows them to strengthen the muscles, tendons, and bones of their feet in a natural and healthy way. Children learn to maintain balance, acquire coordination, and learn to maintain proper posture.

child foot development

Children's feet are very different from adult feet - they are wider at the toes, narrower at the heel, and the inner arch is filled with fatty tissue. From birth to around the age of 7, a child's foot undergoes a series of changes. The fatty tissue of the inner arch disappears, the bones form and harden, and the muscles strengthen. From birth to around the age of 7, a child's foot undergoes a series of changes. The fatty tissue of the inner arch disappears, the bones form and harden, and the muscles strengthen (interestingly, the 26 bones of the foot and 36 joints between them are not fully formed until the age of 13).

Young feet are very soft and malleable at first, so in order for them to develop healthily and naturally, they require footwear that provides high flexibility and natural mobility – similar to that of a bare foot.
Tight socks, stiff soles, and hard materials hinder the proper development of a child's foot, which can lead to flat feet, foot deformities, and posture defects.

Many parents worry that their children's feet will get cold when they walk barefoot.

You should not be overly protective in this matter and put socks or shoes on your children when it is not necessary.

In practice, in an unrestricted and snug foot, blood can flow freely, ensuring its natural warmth.

Children's feet sweat twice as much as adults' feet, which is why it is so important to allow the foot to breathe.

Leather is a natural material that allows air to pass through and enables the foot to breathe.

High-quality natural leather is soft, works with the foot, and does not cause blisters.

When shoes squeeze the toes in such a way that they cannot be spread naturally and work while walking, the child begins to place their foot on its outer edge in order to maintain balance. The child then learns to walk by pushing off with the arch of the foot instead of the toes, which results in flat feet.

To avoid flat feet in your child, put shoes on them that do not restrict their feet.

Children's skin is thin and sensitive–it is important that the materials used to make children's shoes do not contain harmful or irritating substances that could penetrate their bodies. Learn more about the natural leather we use to make Bobux shoes
